I bought Judy in Disguise by the Silicon Teens when it came out. Love them.
This young guy is amazing. He’s super smart techy lad who works on really interesting projects – and then tells you how he did them. He’s a great writer and brilliant at explaining complex things. His last project was the live tube tracker – benbyfax.substack.com
But I love this one story:
Follow him on substack – benbyfax.substack.com
If you like listening to premier league footballers reading out their own name – then this is the video for you. 1 and half hours of it.
Always worth checking out the Backlisted summer reads. I have only read Ministry of Time which i quite like but will def buy the Anomaly and have been meaning to read the Alexander Baron for ages.
Have also been tying to publish a kind of version (aka rip off) of the Ted Hughes book
… enjoyed this piece about the rash of Oasis books coming your way this summer and the problems about writing about the Gallagher’s output (i.e the final run of shit albums).
I enjoyed this episode of Tape Notes, there is a great bit where they put the vocals for Sexy Boy through a Leslie speaker and suddenly they realise they have made something special. He drives home through Paris at night realising his life will never be the same again.
It’s been out a while now, but just finished this biography of Ronald Blythe – really enjoyed it. Intriguing to read that half of his books were published after he turned 80. www.hachette.co.uk
Loved this Charlie Brooker interview about making Black Mirror and more.
Love this – i think Pete Paphides is putting out an album by them
And some more hand-drawing. The image of London took 1000 hours.
